May 2013
May is one of my fav times of year. Not only is it my birthday month but it is also when the arts festival runs in Brighton. I have spent the weekend exploring Open Houses around Hove & Brighton, munching my way around the food festival and dancing at the Spiegel tent dressed as a flapper (a 1930s wooden circus tens shaped like a 50p). And we are only in week two of May.
Days have been mega productive, with a lovely shoot for House of Fraser - working on their latest Home magazine which will be in store in a couple of Months. I got work with photographer Jake Curtis, who I did one of my very first shoots with over 15 years ago. I love his work - and the shoot, despite the rain was a pleasure. Look out for the Jeff Koons inspired ceramics which will be in House of Fraser in the Autumn. I've already got my eye on one.

When Period Living called to ask me to do two covers over three days - I took a big GULP! But thanks to my amazing team of stylist assistants - Kate McPhee, Lucy Birch & Amy Davidson, we did it. The first theme was a pretty lace shoot in the tones and colour of the Great Gatsby film and the other was a world traveller shoot (right up my street) with rusty shades of patterns. Over the three days, we unpacked, labelled, decorated, sewed, stitched, and then packed up again. Not even a robbery down the road in New Cross stopped us! Art Direction and encouragement came from Rachel Watson at Period Living magazine and photos by Graham Atkins-Hughs. Cushion plumping by me.

Well Hello March! You were so snowy and cold, not that you can tell from these beautiful shots we did for luxury bedding company V-Spring. A touch of summer was brought to icy North London with this bed shot in a pretty vintage conservatory.
Also on the cards this month was a shoot down in deepest Devon. I got to stay in a 16th century cottage on foggy Dartmoor. Such stunning views, it hardly felt like work. Take a look at my instragrm snaps of the misty mornings.

I've been picking up lots of inspiration and contacts out in Colombia. Check out my instagram snaps of the colours of this amazing country. The beaches here are lovely but, if I'm being a bit biased, they're not as lush as our very own shores. And it made me hark back to the shoot I did in Autumn with photographer Nick Pope. We made beach towels look like flags and staked them into the sand at Camber Sanders. So I thought I would share my snap from the day with you.

This month has been shoot crazy! I think that must be as it is not only Xmas but also holiday time for me. So shot for Style At Home magazine, giving a conservatory a 1950s look inspired by prints from the Festival of Britian for their June issue. Issue out in June.
Debenhams asked me to style up a shoot featuring all their world-famous Designers - not scary at all! Had fun searching for old, worn out DIY tools for the likes of Jasper Conran, Jeff Banks, John Rocha and Betty Jackson to handle on set.
Days before I head off for some winter sun, I am shooting the May shopping feature for Country Homes & Interiors. It gets me in the mood. It's a shopping page on how to give displays in your home have a personal touch - 'shelves with feeling' was the motivation. I love the pretty blue and white colour scheme. (look at my sneaky pic here). Look out for it in their May issue.

It starting to look and feel an awful lot like Christmas, as this month saw the publication of my Tescos decorating & makes shoot. Just look at the sweetie how patiently modeled for us.
Week long shoot for for Debenhams, producing their Home magazine for use in store. Went to an amazing modern location in Primrose Hill that looked like a glass box. Shot with the effortlessly cool and calm photographer, Ben Anders.
Country Homes & interiors shoot is underway for the April issue. We got all domesticated with a 1940s shoot inspired by festival hall prints in yellow. All done in barn on the Thames in the freezing cold but photographer Trevor Richards managed to make it look bright and sunny.

Yet another busy month! The big news is I'm now representing myself and am no longer with OAK. So please get in touch with me directly with any project ideas.
I've been shooting non-stop for Debenhams, working on their spring summer Home magazine, which will be in stores by Jan next year. I had to take a van full of props including my vintage bike. I've been shooting with the lovely Nick Pope, Dan Duchars and Ben Anders.
I've also shot a beautiful cottage for a 'small spaces' issue of Ideal Home magazine. Owned by the charming Rosie Watson, who runs Roses All Over, a vintage china hire service. And I shot papercut artist Sylvie Howitt's Hove house was jam packed full of lovely ideas

This month kick started off with an other week long shoot for one of my regular clients, Decora. I love shooting at these amazing modern locations. This room on the left was one of my fav shots.

At lastly, I worked with the lovely Mr Laurence Llewelyn Bowen shooting a makeover using all his new products from his Littlewoods collection. The couple were lovely and the bedroom had Mr LLB's very individual look.

My best friend makes her modelling debute with my her little baby for this Brighton Living room makeover. It appears in April '12 Style At Home magazine. Her boy was beautifully behaved and we had such a lovely day - especially as Holly, the photographer had just found out she was pregnant too. It was a day of tea and cake - hardly felt like work at all. Anyway, back to the room. It had been decorated in shades of blues and silver. I helped to finish off the room with accessories thanks to my new fav store - Store21.

Ooh, I'm back in the world of telly. Working with production company Wylld Stallions, I styled a TV advert for hair curlers. I ended up i a swish nightclub dressing it in 100s of Ikea lights. My job is never boring.
